Over 80 Years of Quality Eyecare & Eyewear

January Jones’ Versace Eyewear

As one of the stars of Mad Men, January Jones, who plays suburban housewife Betty Draper on the AMC hit series, is at the center of a fashion revival. Since its debut in 2007, the show has continued to bleed 1960s styles into the zeitgeist, which eventually make their way to the cutting rooms and runways of major design houses.

So it should be no surprise that January Jones recently became the namesake of a new eyewear collection from Versace, called January J. The designer frames will be hitting stores starting in April and with Jones posing nude for Versace’s Spring 2011 ad campaign, there’s sure to be some buzz around these specs.

Donatella Versace herself spoke glowingly of Jones saying, “I am always on the lookout for the next Versace blonde and in January I feel I have found a perfect Versace woman for the twenty-first century. She is chic and elegant but deeply sensual too.”

January will likely remain in the media spotlight after the launch of her namesake eyewear line because her next big screen role is just around the corner in June. She will be playing Emma Frost, a mutant telepath in the upcoming movie X-Men: First Class.

Maybe we can drop her a line about snagging a pair of glasses like the ones that Cyclops wears, but somehow we doubt it.
