Trend Alert: Vintage Circle Sunglasses

The red carpet rolled itself up and walked on over to SoCal’s hottest outdoor music festival, Coachella 2014!  Don’t be fooled by the lack of designer gowns; Coachella has long been one of the go-to events that allow stars and fashionistas to embrace their inner flower child.  Anytime there are this many A-listers in one place, trends are about to be started… or in this case…revisited.  As the old adage says, what goes around comes around.  So, without further ado, we present the not-so-new but always ‘chic’ lifestyle trend you need to know about:  The Free Spirited Vintage Circle Sunglasses.

Many shades are considered to be circular and the category itself is loosely bound.  However, what we mean by “circular” are sunglasses with rounded frames. No harsh angles, please!  Unlike their snarky, uptight counterparts with angular, Matrix-inspired lines, rounded frames offer a less formal and more playful look.  More specifically, they tell onlookers that you boast a go-with-the-flow mentality and possess an impeccable taste – both in fashion AND music!

Below are some great examples of what we mean…

Beyonce and Jay Z were seen totally going with the flow in their rounded frames.

While Emma Roberts rocked her magenta, circle mirror frames nearby (a play on last year’s trend)

Shenae Grimes’ hubby, Josh Beech, rolled up his sleeves, and leisurely strolled through the festival in his Harry Potter-esque specs.

Even Selena Gomez and Kylie Jenner cashed in on the trend.  With a Kardashian on board, the vintage inspired circle sunglass trend is sure to make a splash all season long.

Last but not least, we have the self-proclaimed “Queen of Coachella,” Vanessa Hudgens.  Made for the shade, Vanessa’s copper-hued, circular sunglasses take her flower power to the next level.

Whether you’re heading to Coachella for the second weekend or to a backyard barbeque, Cohen’s Fashion Optical has plenty of vintage inspired, circle frames for you.  Head on over to our website and release your inner headband-wearing, no-need-for-shoes, John Lennon inspired-spring attitude!
